Earl MacDonald's next great lesson on jazz piano. Visit his site! Continuing on with Earl MacDonald's great lessons on jazz piano. I've already posted an article about the significant impact Chiu Ling Lin has had on my own piano playing. Click here for that article. In grad school I had the privilege of studying with Veronica Jochum at The New England Conservatory of Music. Veronica Jochum has taught multiple generations of pianists. Coming from the distinctly German style of playing, performing, and teaching, Veronica challenged me in ways that were different than Chiu Ling Lin. Under Veronica, I gained power and depth to tone production. Veronica is the daughter of the eminent German conductor Eugen Jochum. Veronica's own musical training and inspiration comes from her teachers, Josef Benevenuti, Edwin Fischer, and Rudolph Serkin. This is Veronica Jochum playing MacDowell's 12 Virtuoso Studies Op. 46.
