The
Chancellors have released their newest recording, One
Way Ticket. This is a very ambitious project with a
very wide range of accompaniment styles ranging from big band
jazz to Dixieland, to full orchestra, to down-home country and
much more. There are many old favorites on the CD as well as
some new music. Mike did a lot of arranging for the disc and
helped from the production end as well. In addition, the
recording features three original songs Mike has written. One of
these Christ Be Beside Me has become a
favorite congregational worship song and effectively used in
worship services and prayer events. Check out
this recording.

UPCOMING PERFORMANCES
ACME Jazz Company has "Hit the Streets!"
Mike
has been playing with the ACME JAZZ COMPANY since its
inception this past spring. ACME is a
new band led by sax man and arranger-phenom Doug Rasmussen and
many other well-known jazz instrumentalists in the Twin Cities area.
ACME had a great debut in June at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival
in St. Paul and has been playing monthly at Ogara's Shamrock
Room in St. Paul. If you enjoy great jazz this band is very hot.
The arrangements are great. (Mike now has added one to the
library of arrangements the band is playing.) The rhythm section
is tight. The soloists are killer and the horns will knock you
off your seat. Catch them Monday evenings, 7:30p.m. at Ogara's.
