Do
you ever wonder if God is really in control? Things seem to be
so messed up one sometimes is at the point to believe that maybe
there really is no God or even if there is, he must not be so
all-powerful and all-knowing.
One of the questions atheists often pose to Christians is,
“How can a loving God allow so many bad things to happen in this
world?” This question is addressed in the
Book of Job.
In this part of the Bible, we see an example of how God
allowed his best example of a “righteous man” to suffer in
incredible ways. Job’s faith is stretched almost to the breaking
point. His friends accuse him that he must have done something
wrong. His wife advises him the abandon God.
While we can never fully understand the ways of God, through
Scripture, we can know his heart and love for us. God has
promised to never leave us nor forsake us. He alone has the
power to use pain, persecution, even death for ultimate good.
Another example is in the story of Joseph. Joseph was sold by
his brothers—evil was done to him. God used the outcome of this
evil deed for His glory and for ultimate good. We may not always
see the outcome and the “big picture” the way God does, but we
can trust in his faithfulness and love.
Chorus 1
Farther along we'll know all about it
Farther along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother live in the
sunshine
We'll understand it all by and by
Verse 1
Tempted and tried we're oft made to
wonder
Why it should be thus all the day long
While there are others living about us
Never molested tho in the wrong
Verse 2
When death has come and taken our loved
ones
It leaves our home so lonely and drear
Then do we wonder why others prosper
Living so wicked year after year
Verse 3
Faithful till death said our loving
Master
A few more days to labor and wait
Toils of the road will then seem as
nothing
As we sweep thru the beautiful gate
Verse 4
When we see Jesus coming in glory
When He comes from His home in the sky
Then we shall meet Him in that bright
mansion
We'll understand it all by and
by
Where are you on the "roadway of life." Are you
at a point where you are asking the question "WHY?"
"Cheer up my brother (or sister)
and live in the sunshine (choose joy).
We'll understand it all by and by.
Luke 24:13-48
